SALES AND PEOPLE FROM BOTH SIDES

I have spent almost all of my career where sales meets people.

Jay Greaves, MSOD

Founder, North & Quiet Advisory.

I started my career at Delta Air Lines. First in ground operations, then in IT, then in HR. Delta developed me as a corporate leader across the whole business. It never asked me to settle into one function.

Most of my roles came because someone asked me to step into them. At one company, colleagues who knew me from HR and organization development learned I had also run sales operations and sales teams. At the same company, colleagues who knew me as a sales leader learned I held a master's degree in organization development and had spent years developing people. Later, a new CEO told me the board wanted to support him with a chief of staff and asked if I would take the role. When the company needed to transform, I was asked to step into the CHRO role, even though I had been away from HR for a while.

After Delta, I worked at PE-backed software companies and the pattern held. I rebuilt a six-person sales team. I led sales enablement, revenue operations and sales technology. I moved between sales and HR more than once.

My most recent corporate role was CHRO of a software company serving mission-driven organizations. It ended in February 2026.

Why does the path matter?

In most companies, sales, HR and IT often run as siloed functions. I have sat in five executive leadership seats, and that experience gave me the ability to see the potential in each function and lead across the enterprise. Researchers sometimes call this integrative intelligence. It is the thing I do best.

Why North & Quiet?

The name comes from the Camino de Santiago, where every route leads to Santiago, in the north of Spain, and the way is quiet. It is the setting I try to create for every client.

I've held five executive seats

CHRO. I built the people strategy and the team behind it.

Chief of Staff. I ran the CEO's operating rhythm.

SVP Revenue Operations. I owned forecasting, data and systems.

VP Enablement. I trained all employees and got sellers ready to produce.

Regional VP Sales. I rebuilt a weak region, then took half the team to Club in Spain.
